Email Recieved:
We wish to notify you that you have been emerged a winner of £250,000.00 Pounds((250k pounds pounds?)).kindly confirm receipt of this email, by forwarding this message to our claims department on <email address> ((Hotmail address))

My Response:
I would like to inform you that your attempt at scamming someone who sells insurance against this kind of thing is not the smartest idea. I would also like to inform you that you are a complete retard who does no deserve the air you use to live.

Best Regards

Haha, that's funny. I don't really get much spam (luckily) and have been spared this type of scam. I have read in the news however that many people have bought into this type of scam here in the US thinking that they have won the Canadian lottery. One police officer I had spoken to on this topic said that most people should keep in mind that "if you haven't played the Canadian lottery, you can't win the Canadian lottery". Laughing

I know... Guess what happened the next day... I got three more of them from three other people... I couldn't help but shake my head

This might not be surprising to those of you reading this, but I largely don't even take the time to sort through my inbox of what's junk and what's real because I have 900+ unread messages.

Some of the spam comes from actual companies, like Best Buy.

Then there's this guy I haven't talked to in years who sends me exactly 3 forward messages every single day. I try to set his address as a junk spammer, but it never actually works.

OMG, 900+?? Have you tried to unsubscribe to some of the company spam? I did that and unsubscribed to some of the newsletters that I had signed up for, but never have the time to read. That's how I've gotten mine down and it helped clear some of the clutter that was coming in. Razz

I get about 20 a day , on one email that is . On another e-mail that I don't use and only write down if I dont want to give someone my real mails it's about a 100 a day . Ever since I have had an argument with someone I'm not talking to anymore ( and I used all my emails to write to this person ) I am suddenly getting spam on all my addresses........... Rolling Eyes but I don't mind. It's just annoying when you go on a vacation and come back and there's thousands of spam mails waiting for you and the first thing you do is deleting spam before you even get the time to unpack your stuff...

I get those mails that I won something regularly... apart from that someone things I need large amounts of Xanax, Cialis, Vigra, Ritalin, and swiss watches, Rolex, gas masks and best of all , someone obviously signed up with my name and mailaddress on something called Fanbox...... anyone ever heard of that ? I don't have a clue what it is, but I didn't sign up .

People thinking they've won the Canadian lottery when they're being promised a sum of pounds? So there are Americans who believe that the pound sterling is the currency of Canada?
